The Beersheba Farm Castledale is a line of sheep developed at Beersheba Farm.
The breeding aims for these sheep are: a soft-handling fleece, well-formed staples with good pearly lustre, staple length of 12-14cm. They are currently 23-26 micron and their fleeces are a joy to spin. We find that the fibre (fleece or combed tops) is ideal for beginner and experienced spinners alike.
The wool going into our combed tops is professionally classed at shearing time and only our prime fleeces are used. This results in a superior length and handle in the tops as well as very little processing waste.
