This is a part fleece which has been skirted. It will still contain a small amount of VM.
English Leicester is a “strong” wool which is traditionally used for sturdy outer wear, rugs and socks. Spun as laceweight it will have lovely drape and lustre when used in knitted lace shawls. It is not, for most people, a next-to-skin fibre but this fleece does have a nice handle to it. Ideal for felting.
NB. All our raw fleece comes from unrugged sheep who live outdoors 24/7. This means that dust penetration and small amounts of vegetable matter will be present and vary seasonally. Staple/Fibre length naturally varies over a fleece – we try to limit that in part fleeces.
